A LICHFIELD artist is inviting local crafters to join her for the ultimate “cosy night out” at the Lichfield Garrick.

Kate Tilley is launching Stitchety Cinema on 26th February.

It will feature the opportunity for participants to work on their own crochet, sewing and knitting while enjoying a classic movie.

Kate said:

“Stitchety Cinema marries the mindfulness of crafting and the social buzz of watching a movie on the big screen.

“It’s going to be a brilliant night out regardless of whether you’re an old hand, a dabbler or a complete novice.”

The ticket includes a pre-movie session for friendly chat where you will also be able to get help on projects or advice for beginners.

When the film plays, the lights in the theatre will kept on a low level so crafters can continue to work. Needles and hooks will be available to borrow, while thread, yarn and fabric will also be available.

Stitchety Cinema’s first event will be the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley.

At the end of the evening visitors will be able to vote and help choose the film for the next event.

For more information on the event visit www.stitchety.com. To book tickets, priced at £15, visit www.lichfieldgarrick.com .
