An empty Lichfield shop is set to be re-opened as a bakery.
National bakery chain Greggs have applied for planning permission on the former Harwayes lingerie store.
The shop closed earlier this year, but an application has now been submitted to Lichfield District Council in relation to the listed property at 30 Market Street.
Greggs have applied for permission to make changes to the building to allow for a new shop front to be installed.
The chain already operate a shop on Baker’s Lane and it is not yet known what impact a new store on Market Street will have on their existing bakery.
Residents can have their say on the planning application via the Lichfield District Council website.
