Manager Charlie Blakemore insists Chasetown FC’s players will be “up for it” when they attempt to pull another giant-killing act out of the bag in the FA Trophy.

Former Football League club Mansfield Town visit the Scholars Ground tomorrow for the quarter final tie as favourites to make it through to the last four of the competition.

However, with a trip to Wembley awaiting the finalists of the FA Trophy, Chasetown’s players are unlikely to need any extra incentive  to upset the odds once again.

Past and present players have been lining up to pay tribute to boss Blakemore’s ability to prepare his team to tear up the formbook and the man himself has insisted that motivation is a two-way street.

He explained:

“I will be getting them absolutely right up for it, but I can only do that with players who really want to be up for it. They’ve got a great attitude this bunch have and we’ve got a great team spirit.”
