RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say on the next stage of plans for a new pump track in Burntwood.
A public viewing of two design options is taking place at Burntwood Library from 11.30am to 1pm on Saturday (3rd October).
Led by Burntwood Town Council alongside local campaigners, the event will be a chance to see the options being considered.
It follows the allocation of £300,000 in Community Infrastructure Levy funding from Lichfield District Council earlier this year.
The event will give people the opportunity to provide feedback ahead of a preferred design being selected and moving forward to a formal planning application.
Cllr Darren Ennis, leader of Burntwood Town Council, said:
"This is another really significant step forward for the Burntwood pump track and one I am really pleased we have reached.
"We now have two strong, viable designs in front of us. Rather than simply deciding ourselves which one should go forward, we want the people who will actually use the facility – particularly our young people and families – to come along, look at them properly and tell us what they think.
"This isn’t starting again with a blank sheet of paper. These are developed designs that work within the project and the funding available, but there is still an opportunity to make minor changes and take the best feedback from residents before we finalise what goes forward to planning.
"There has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes to keep this project moving, so getting to the stage where residents can actually see what the pump track could look like is a great milestone.
"Burntwood Town Council is committed to delivering this project and I would encourage anyone interested, particularly young riders and their families, to come along and get involved."
Members of the pump track campaign group will also be at the event.
