The charity – which helps victims of domestic abuse – will host the walk in Lichfield city centre on June 27.

Cllr Pullen said: “Last year, police in Staffordshire received 50 reports every day of domestic abuse. An already vulnerable woman, often with young children in tow, often with little or no local support network, can turn to Pathway Project to provide accommodation, advice, counselling and support.

“This is an excellent local charity which has a dramatic influence on the lives of abused women, but they need funding.

“That’s why I’m walking a mile – to raise funds and to give the clear message that real men don’t hit women.”

People can donate to Cllr Pullen’s fundraising efforts via his JustGiving page.
