A COUNTY councillor says he is determined to help tackle delays to a new health centre in Burntwood.
Reform UK’s Cllr Robin Hall won the Burntwood South seat at the elections last month.
He said his focus since then has been on “getting to know the community” and making sure key issues are addressed.
Among those flagged by residents was the delays on construction of a new health centre which has been earmarked for land on Cherry Close where the town’s former youth centre once stood.
Cllr Hall said:
“One of the key issues I intend to prioritise is the ongoing situation with the medical centre.
“It’s been dragging on far too long and continues to cause real frustration for residents in Burntwood and Chasetown.
“I’m determined to do everything I can to push for a resolution that finally meets our community’s healthcare needs.”
Cllr Hall said he had been working with fellow Reform UK Burntwood North representative Andrew Clissett to bring “real improvements” to the town.
He said:
“I also want to put the spotlight on Chasewater. It’s a stunning local treasure that remains relatively under-appreciated beyond our area.
“While Trentham Gardens sees over three million visitors a year and provides a huge boost to the local economy, Chasewater currently attracts a fraction of that.
“I believe we have a massive opportunity to grow that number and unlock the full potential of this incredible site-for tourism, jobs, and pride in our local heritage.”
