A Burntwood councillor has confirmed she will stand down as opposition group leader at Staffordshire County Council.
Cllr Sue Woodward was the first woman to lead the Labour group, but will hand over the mantle on Thursday (19th December).
The Burntwood North representative, who also leads Burntwood Town Council, said the decision would allow her to focus more time elsewhere.
“I’m putting family first for a while.
“I’m also genuinely excited about leading Burntwood Town Council and the opportunities open to us as a community. I want to put as much energy into this role as I can.”

Cllr Woodward added that there was also work to be done in the wake of the General Election result.
“There’s a big job for all who love the Labour party as I do to renwe and reconnect.
“I’ll be all I can to ensure I do just that.”
