Two Burntwood football clubs are hoping local businesses will support their move to a new home.
Junior team Burntwood Dragons and its female branch Burntwood Phoenix will take over the running of the Hospital Roads playing fields after reaching an agreement on a community asset transfer with Lichfield District Council.
But the clubs now hope local companies will help them make the most of their new home.
A spokesman said: “This is a massive achievement for Burntwood Dragons and Burntwood Phoenix. However, it does not come cheap.
“The clubs have 22 teams with a mix of boys and girls at varying ages and to keep the teams going, the pitches cut, the new changing room complex and tea room maintained etc will all add up.”
Additional sponsors are being sought for the ground and facilities, via things like pitch-side advertising and kit branding.
But the club also believes businesses will appreciate the chance to support a community project.
“We have found that a number of companies that have agreed to sponsor us in one form or another are interested in the clubs and supporting us.”
