Burntwood RUFC are set to open their new season with a First Round tie at home to Leek in the Staffordshire Senior Cup.
The side will continue to be led by skipper Graham Shelley and coached by Graham MacDonald, assisted by Jimmy Davies and Paul Rogers.
The squad, which achieved league success last season by winning Midlands 3 West North, has been kept together and added to by products from the club’s youth section. They have also been boosted by the return from university of Ian Jones.
The seniors have been in pre-season training since June and have played three trial games in readiness for the challenges of Level 7 rugby.
The fixture on Saturday (September 3) kicks off at 3pm and is followed by a home league clash against Old Saltleians on September 10.
