Would-be rugby players are being urged to try out the sport at special event at Burntwood Rugby Club.
The touch rugby event takes place on October 1, following England’s crucial Rugby World Cup pool match with Scotland and is aimed at newcomers to the came.
A spokesperson explained: “Team line-ups can be made to suit whether by age, ability or sex – just pitch up with a group, enjoy a free cooked breakfast, have the chance to win £50 on the last try scorer in the England v Scotland game and then have some fun throwing a rugby ball about. How about a lads and dads or moms and daughters contest?
Games are played 6-a-side but squads of up to 10 players are allowed. Don’t worry if you haven’t got that many – come along and make up a guest side.”
The Burntwood RUFC bar will be open for drinks afterwards and the club’s 1sts play Stafford in a league game in the afternoon.
