A LOCAL business has marked its 25th anniversary by making a donation to We Love Lichfield.
David Lloyd Lichfield has handed over almost £2,500 after hosting fundraising events ranging from cake sales to sponsored cycle rides.
General manager Andy Lightbown said he was delighted members and staff were able to contribute to the We Love Lichfield coffers.
He said:
“We have been a key supporter of We Love Lichfield for a number of years, organising and hosting fundraisers, offering prizes and donating time, resources and materials to help promote the place-based fund.
“I feel it is our duty to support our local community and I would like to extend a huge thank you to my team in club and also our wonderful members who donate and support us.
“We very much support the wide-reaching and positive effects of We Love Lichfield and will continue to do so in 2025 – the 25th anniversary of our opening.”
We Love Lichfield provides grants to local projects and groups using income generated from an endowment fund made up of contributions from donors.
Since launching a decade ago, more than £420,000 has been distributed by the organisation.
Simon Price, patron of We Love Lichfield, said:
“A huge thank you to everyone at David Lloyd for their kind support.
“We Love Lichfield is like a pension scheme for the voluntary sector in Lichfield district. By raising funds for capital and giving away only our interest we can keep the funding going for generations to come.
“We gave away over £15,000 to 22 different organisations just before Christmas and this is, in part, only possible due to the generous support of businesses across the district.”
