A VEHICLE has been seized by Lichfield District Council after a member of the public captured a fly-tipping incident on camera.
The incident took place on Brookhay Lane in Whittington.
Following an investigation, two Lichfield District Council Environmental Protection Officers seized a white Toyota Yaris Cross from the offender’s workplace in Fradley on 12th August.
The owner was issued with a £1,000 Fixed Penalty Notice for fly-tipping, which has since been paid.
Cllr Richard Cox, Lichfield District Council's cabinet member for community and public Pprotection, said:
"This is a great example of how information from our residents can help us take action against those who think it’s acceptable to dump waste in our district.
"We want everyone to be able to enjoy a clean and welcoming district, and fly-tipping has no place in our communities.
"We take reports seriously and will act where we have the evidence to do so.
"I’d particularly like to thank the resident who reported this incident – their actions helped our officers investigate and achieve this result – and our hard-working team who respond to fly-tipping reports and work to keep our district clean."
