CHASETOWN saw their winless run in the league extended to six games as they fell to defeat at Lower Breck.

An even opening to the game saw little in clear-cut chances, with the home side seeing Will Lawson head just over in the tenth minute.

The Scholars saw their first effort of note come after a quarter of an hour when Matt Hearsey's curling strike was turned round the post by keeper Jacob Poytress.

But it was the home side who broke the deadlock midway through the first half when a long ball from Terence Miles found Sam Burns who made no mistake with his finish.

Chasetown tried to hit back as a quick counter-attack saw Ollie Finney find Matt Funge, but Poytress got an important hand to his effort.

Funge was again denied by a stop from the home keeper early in the second half.

The Scholars did level on the hour mark though as Hearsey's cross was flicked home by Ollie Finney.

But Lower Breck restored their advantage 15 minutes from time when Elliot Hughes' flick allowed Lawson to finish past Curtis Pond to make it 2-1.

Any hopes Chasetown had of finding another leveller were dashed in the dying moments after Ash Fallon was sent off after bringing down an attacker.
