CHASETOWN picked up all three points after coming out on top in a five-goal clash at Wythenshawe Town.
Jamie Hawkins’ men got off to the worst possible start as they found themselves a goal behind with just five minutes on the clock when Wealth Da Silva produced a composed finish to beat Scholars stopper Curtis Pond.
The visitors went close to a leveller minutes later when Joe Dunne’s header was gathered by the home keeper.
The equaliser did come Chasetown’s way after a quarter of an hour when a long ball saw Dunne deliver the ball across goal for Sam Wilding to nod home.
Jack Langston sent a free kick wide of the upright as the visitors looked to turn the game around.
The Scholars made it 2-1 after 30 minutes when Langston’s cross was tapped home by George Cater.
Wythenshawe began the second half brightly and forced Pond into a good save to turn a shot around the post.
The hosts levelled things up 13 minutes from time when sub Kevin Spinelli turned well in the box to fire home.
But the game was far from over as Chasetown went back in front five minutes later as Langston dinked the ball over the keeper to make it 3-2.
