CHASETOWN came from a goal down to pick up a point at Newcastle Town.
A lively opening saw the hosts fire just over before Tak Sambizi was flagged offside at the other end as he looked to have broken clear.
Kyle Moseley struck an effort wide as the visitors looked for an opener.
But it was Newcastle who made the breakthrough when a foul in the box saw them awarded a penalty ten minutes before half time. Luca Whitney made no mistake from the resulting spot kick to make it 1-0.
Harry Bower went close to doubling the advantage before the break but his strike went wide of the target.
The final opportunity of the opening 45 came in stoppage time when Tom Thorley fired over the Newcastle bar.
Both sides showed their attacking intent once more after the turnaround with Bower sending a free kick over the top and Matt Hearsey's header off target.
Newcastle should have stretched their lead just after the hour mark but Bower scuffed his finish.
It would prove costly moments later as the Scholars levelled when Hearsey netted despite protests for offside from the home defence.
Sambizi almost turned the game fully but was denied by a good stop by home keeper Joe Slinn.
Matt Funge was next to go close with a glancing header that was just off target.
Newcastle had a glorious chance to nab all three points in injury time but Joel Jones could only hit the bar from close range.
