CHASETOWN progressed to the next round of the FA Trophy after a 3-1 home triumph over AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
The Scholars saw goalkeeper Curtis Pond make his 400th appearance for the club – and he saw those in front of him make a bright start as Logan Cousins fired just over the top after eight minutes.
Cairo Taylor went close for the visitors when he was sent through but saw his shot stopped by Pond.
Chasetown got their noses in front after a quarter of an hour when a free-kick into the box found the head of Lachlan Suffell.
It was almost a second for Suffell five minutes later after he was found by Matt Hearsey but couldn't get a good enough contact on the ball.
Cousins again sent an effort over the top as the Scholars went looking for a second goal.
The advantage was doubled on 36 minutes when Hearsey's cross was nodded home by Matt Funge.
It was 3-0 two minutes later as Suffell's run and low finish found the corner of the net.
Taylor tried to spark Rushden and Diamonds into life early in the second half but was denied by Pond once more.
Jordan Evans sent a free-kick over the bar as Chasetown tried to stretch their lead even further and then Suffell's header forced a good save out of the visiting keeper.
Taylor again went close to pulling one back for the visitors 13 minutes from time with a shot just off target before Matty Warburton was denied by a fine save from Pond.
The Chasetown rearguard was eventually breached eight minutes from time when James Clifton netted, but the goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation strike.
