GOALS from Jack Langston and Jordan Evans helped Chasetown book a place in the final of the Walsall Senior Cup.
A heavy downpour during the clash against Rushall Olympic failed to dampen the Scholars’ spirit as they carved out early half-chances.
The breakthrough eventually came just before the half-hour mark when Langston netted the opener.
Rushall went close to a leveller early in the second period with an effort that cannoned off the bar.
Chasetown keeper Curtis Pond kept his side in front with a good save 15 minutes from time.
But the result was put beyond doubt when Langston’s shot struck the crossbar but Evans was on hand to tuck home the rebound.
The Scholars will now face Stafford Rangers in the final on 12th May at Bescot after they beat Sporting Khalsa on penalties in their semi-final tie.
