A BUSINESS has teamed up with a local community organisation to offer opportunities for young people.
McDonald’s Lichfield has teamed up with Liberty Jamboree for the initiative.
It saw representatives from both organisations work at the outlet on Conduit Street as part of National Youth Work Week.
They also discussed future opportunities for work experience, support with applying for jobs and supporting young people through the hiring process.
Franchisee Michael McCollum, who owns and operates the Lichfield restaurant, said:
“Youth work empowers and strives to ensure young people have all the possibilities to become their best self – and it’s truly inspiring to see our Liberty Jamboree members engaging with both our customers and staff, building bonds and making a positive impact.
“This is just one of the many ways we’re celebrating youth work. Together, we’re creating meaningful moments and making a difference every day to the people of Lichfield and look forward to implementing our new training moving forward.”
Liberty Jamboree also worked with McDonald’s by delivering Level 1 Introduction to youth work training to McDonald’s staff and having young adults introduce basic Makaton.
The partnership is part of the McDonald’s Makin’ it programme, run in collaboration with BBC Children in Need, to better support young people and unlock opportunity.

“We are delighted to have started our relationship with Lichfield McDonald’s with a week-long event to support National Youth Work Week.
“We have an exciting plan to provide practical support over the coming months.”
