A WORKER at a Lichfield business has celebrated after clocking up 40 years of service.
General Manager Ian Nilson had worked in engineering before deciding to change career and join cutlery manufacturer Arthur Price in 1986.
Beginning as an assistant in the production department, he worked his way through the ranks.
Ian said:
"It has flown by, it really has. I am very fortunate to enjoy my job and the people around me. Every day is different – you just never know what you may need to make or deliver.
"In a fast-paced environment, having a good team around you is vital and I have the privilege to have worked with great people for four decades.
"That’s because Arthur Price really is a family. It’s a cliché, but it’s true. I’ve seen many changes over my 40 years, but the one thing that is constant is the friendly workplace."
The company's Chairman Simon Price said:
"Ian is a vital part of our business, liked by colleagues and respected by customers, with vast experience and expertise.
"As times have changed, his skill and knowledge have also developed, which to me shows an amazing aptitude and ability.
"I am privileged to have him as part of my team."
CEO James Price added:
"Ian joins a very special group of people who have been with us for 40 years, and that says something about our workplace of which I am very proud.
