Conservatives retain seat after by-election victory

The Conservatives have retained a seat at Lichfield District Council following a by-election.

THE Conservatives have retained a seat at Lichfield District Council following a by-election.

The Armitage with Handsacre ballot was won by Martyn Punyer after he collected 640 votes.

Reform UK’s Andrew Clissett finished second with 431 votes, while Labour’s James Blackman received 127.

Morag Maclean took 99 for the Liberal Democrats, with the Green Party’s David Cullen collecting 63 votes.

The seat had been vacant following the resignation of previous Conservative councillor Nikki Hawkins.
