Construction has begun on a new £4.25million primary school in Lichfield.
Built as part of the Roman Heights housing development in Streethay, the new building will house nine classrooms to cater for up to 236 children.
It will also feature a digital technology area and outdoor play areas, a football pitch and a multi-use games area.
Designed by Birmingham-based Glancy Nicholls Architects, Streethay Primary School is being built by Seddon. The company’s regional director Ed Wootton said: “This is an exciting project for Streethay that will bring new facilities and amenities to the village.
“We are ensuring that the construction materials and design fit in with the other village buildings and the local environment.”
