Consultation begins on neighbourhood plan for Alrewas

Published:

A neighbourhood plan has been drawn up for Alrewas.

Submitted by the area’s Parish Council, the document outlines how Alrewas could be shaped in the future and, if approved, it will provide a framework for future development.

Lichfield District Council is now holding a six-week consultation until April 17 so local people and organisations can see the plan and give their views.

Councillor Ian Pritchard, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth & Development, said: “Well done to the local community members who have worked so hard on the Alrewas Neighbourhood Plan, it is the second community to have reached this stage in Lichfield district.

“It’s a great achievement to have got it this far in the process and we look forward to receiving comments about the plan.”

Once the consultation has been completed Lichfield District Council will collate all the comments and pass them on to an independent examiner who will then assess whether the plan meets national requirements and can proceed to the next stage of the process, which is a referendum within the neighbourhood area.
