A NEW use of an industrial unit as an indoor golf facility has been refused planning permission.
Drive In Golf has opened the facility which features five Trackman-powered bays, allowing visitors to play courses from around the world.
But Lichfield District Council has now refused permission for the changes to the unit on Cannel Road.
A planning decision notice said the evidence supporting the change of use had not been sufficient:
"The proposed change of use would result in a use outside of the traditional employment uses classes on an existing industrial area.
"Insufficient evidence, in the form of details of comprehensive marketing of the site for at least 12 months and appropriate to the prevailing market conditions, and a financial appraisal that demonstrates that the development of any employment generating use is unviable has been provided to allow the local planning authority to undertake an appropriate and robust assessment of the proposal."
Full details can be found on Lichfield District Council's planning website.
