COUNCILLORS will be asked for their views on plans for an indoor padel tennis facility in Burntwood.
The proposal for the unit at Cinder Road will be discussed at a meeting of Burntwood Town Council’s planning committee ahead of a final decision by Lichfield District Council.
The new facility would provide around 12 new jobs and feature seven padel and four pickleball courts, along with a cafe space and changing rooms.
Owner LCP’s industrial director, Nick Bryson, said the new facility would help secure the long-term usage of the building:
“It has been marketed since September 2025 when the current occupier informed us they would not be renewing the lease which expires in June. During marketing, we have received multiple enquiries for padel.
“Padel is the fastest growing sport in the UK and we received enquiries from ten different operators, demonstrating the demand in this location.”
The meeting of Burntwood Town Council’s planning committee takes place on 18th May.
