Youngsters will be able to enjoy activity mornings as a Lichfield museum launches a new series of events.

Wacky Wednesdays will take place at Erasmus Darwin House throughout August and feature a different theme every week, including the Olympics and the sports Georgian people would have enjoyed to the Diamond Jubilee of 2012.

The activities will include creating crowns, hobby horses and stamps.

“Erasmus Darwin and his wives had 18 children, therefore we at Erasmus Darwin House believe that we are duty bound to encourage creativity and better understanding of local history in the young,” said museum manager Alison Wallis.

Each session – which run from 11.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 3.30pm – costs £2 per child and parent. To book a place call 01543 306260. For more information visit www.erasmusdarwin.org.
