Plans have been drawn up for 88 new homes in Handsacre.
Developers want to build on land next to The Crown Inn on Uttoxeter Road.
They also hope to create a business unit as part of the project too.
A planning statement from the developers says: “Whilst approval is only sought at this stage for the principle of development and means of access, the location of the application site and its development for housing is considered acceptable.
“All [nearby] junctions were considered to have sufficient capacity to accommodate the traffic generated by the application proposals and no safety concerns were identified.
“In simple terms, should the application be permitted, there
would be no adverse impacts on highway safety or the free flow of traffic on existing junctions in the village.”
