Local historic landmark, Erasmus Darwin House are to hold another Spring Fair.
Held over the weekend of 21st and 22nd May, there will be stalls inside and out selling locally produced crafts. Following the success of last year’s event a food & drink festival has also been added offering a variety of local produce.
Alison Wallis, Manager of Erasmus Darwin House said, “the museum is a wonderful venue to hold an event like this. We really enjoy seeing the House buzzing with activity and we also like to make contacts with local sellers and artists. It should be a really great weekend!”
The usual entry fee for the museum will be dropped for the weekend allowing free entry to it’s exhibits as well as the Spring Fair and Food Festival. In addition the museum will be putting on fun activities including Costume Corner, Georgian Games and the usual Erasmouse hunt – you can even have your photo taken in the Georgian sedan chair!
Tours of the cellars will be running over the weekend at 1, 2 and 3pm and should be booked prior to the event as space is limited. Tickets cost £1.50 each and can be bought from reception or booked over the phone. If that wasn’t enough, you can enjoy Pimms and strawberries in the beautiful Herb Garden or a cup of tea in the Georgian tearoom.
