A Lichfield author will explore the differing experiences of university students past and present in his new book.
A Table for Three Please – The Rainbow Years, by Jeremy Lawley Fell, draws on his own memories of the 1960s alongside those of his daughter in the mid-2000s.
A spokesperson for publisher Pegasus said:
“Changes in expectations, social conventions, language, transport and of course technology make for contrasting experiences – some in a positive and way and some less so.
“Both father and daughter had to work for their qualification and make money in the holidays to support themselves, though the options presented to them were different in scope and variety. Both had their academic ups and downs.
“While there was less choice in the 1960s, and rather poorer living conditions, certainly for this student, there was also an explosion of culture, fashion and music that made it an exciting time to be young.
“How does it compare to the millennial experience overall?”
