THE family of a man who died in a crash near Lichfield have paid tribute to him.
Mark Lucas, from Shropshire, was driving a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck on Watling Street in Weeford at around 4.50pm on 19th December when it collided with a blue Valtra tractor and a yellow articulated Volvo lorry.
The 64-year-old died of his injuries at the scene.
In a tribute, his family called him a “beloved husband, devoted father and besotted grandpa”.
They added:
“He was a true outdoorsman who had a thirst for adventure and was never happier than with his family on his boat, exploring in his Land Rover, or out shooting in the fields.
“Always the first to help others, Mark will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and endless optimism that was infectious to all that knew him.
“The void that he leaves behind in our lives is too vast to put into words and too deep to ever be filled.
“We will always miss him.”
Police are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time who might have seen the vehicles before the crash.
