HEALTH bosses in Staffordshire are rolling out flu vaccinations to help protect children and pregnant women.
Youngsters aged between two and three-years-old can get a nasal spray at their GP surgery or at a number of community pharmacies from today (1st October).
School immunisation teams are also offering vaccines in schools, while pregnant women can receive it during routine maternity appointments or through pharmacies.
Hannah Missen, Clinical Lead for NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board, said:
“Flu can be serious or even life-threatening, particularly for children, pregnant women, older people and those with existing health conditions.
“Vaccination is quick, safe and helps stop the spread.
“These viruses are continually evolving, that’s why getting vaccinated every year is vital. I would urge everyone eligible to get vaccinated to protect themselves and people around them.”
Those eligible for the flu vaccine aged 18 years or over can book a flu vaccination appointment at a pharmacy online, via the NHS App or by calling 119.
