LICHFIELD City suffered a fourth straight league defeat as they went down 3-0 at home to Stafford Rangers. Goalkeeper Tom Carter has been a busy man so far this season - and he had to be alert early on in this encounter to tip a header over the bar. Stafford were looking threatening and went close when Carter saved well at his near post and then Matty Hughes headed off the line.
But the opener eventually came on 22 minutes when a long throw was turned home by Mitch Clarke. Things got even worse ten minutes into the second half when Carter's double save want enough as Jake Birch netted. Stafford added a third eight minutes from time when a cross was steered home by sub Wealth DaSilva.
