LICHFIELD suffered frustration after a narrow defeat at Walsall on Bank Holiday Monday.
The city side were sent in to bat by their hosts and found runs hard to come by, despite a knock of 46 by Asif Rajah.
They eventually made 125 before being skittled out.
Early wickets were always going to be key if Lichfield were to have any chance of getting a result – and Preston Lee (4-36) made the breakthroughs as Walsall found themselves wobbling on 55-5.
But a 58 from captain Daniel Betty saw his side pass the city side’s total with a wicket to spare.
