FREE swimming lessons are being provided for girls in Burntwood thanks to support from a local organisation.
The Noel Sweeney Foundation is supporting Burntwood Swimming Club to fund eight youngsters aged between 12 and 16 from Chase Terrace Academy and Erasmus Darwin Academy.
It means the £500 annual membership will be covered to allow them to develop their skills in the water in a way that was previously unavailable due to financial constraints.
Adrian Bates, chairman of the swimming club, said:
“This support from The Noel Sweeney Foundation has made an incredible difference to the lives of these young ladies.
“It’s heartening to see how access to these lessons is helping them grow both in confidence and skill.
“We are excited to continue fostering their potential and look forward to seeing what they can achieve.”
