A new campaign has been launched to get Lichfield recognised as a Dementia Friendly Community.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage local people to take action to support those living with the condition.
The push for the status will see organisations, businesses and residents come together to improve life for those with dementia.
The campaign was launched at the creation and first meeting of the Demential Friendly Lichfield group.
Kat Horner, Dementia Friendly Communities Officer for the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “It is fantastic to see residents and businesses in Lichfield come together to make the city a more dementia-friendly place to be.
“Dementia doesn’t just affect older people, it can affect anyone, and as we see more people being diagnosed communities can respond in a positive way by supporting their friends, family and neighbours to continue to do the things they enjoy.
“I would encourage anyone who is interested in getting involved and learning more to contact Dementia Friendly Lichfield.”
