A flypast from a Royal Air Force Dakota and a Spitfire will help mark Armed Forces Day at The National Memorial Arboretum.
Visitors from across the country are expected to make the trip to the Alrewas site on Saturday (June 27).
The day will feature displays, music and hands-on activities, as well as the flypast from the historic aircraft.
A spokesperson said: “Armed Forces Day is an annual opportunity for the nation to show its support for the men and women of the Armed Forces community, which includes serving personnel, and their families, veterans and the cadet forces.
“As well as our usual daily programme of events including the Daily Act of Remembrance, guided walks and buggy and land train tours, a number of activities will occur throughout the day.”

- 10.30am – Military band form at the base of the Armed Forces Memorial prior to the service of tribute, arrival of Ride to the Wall motorcycles
- 10.40am – Service of tribute to Her Majesty’s Armed Forces
- 10.55am – Daily act of Remembrance and silence
- 11.15am – Pilgrimage and wreath laying
- 11.30am – Royal Army Veterinary Corps dog display
- 12noon – Armed Forces Day parade
- 12.30pm- Ride to the Wall 2014 cheque presentation
- 12.40pm – Military Band – short performance
- 1pm – Cadet drill display
- 1.15pm – Royal Air Force Squirrel DHFS display
- 1.30pm – Royal Army Veterinary Corps dog display
- 1.45pm – Scout band musical performance
- 1.55pm – Royal Air Force Dakota flypast
- 2.30pm – Military band musical performance
- 3.15pm – Scout band musical performance
- 4.30pm – Spitfire flypast
- 4.30pm – Last admission into the Arboretum grounds
The day aims to raise awareness and support for the Armed Forces community and highlight the outstanding contribution they make to our country in their service throughout the world.
