A CHARITY is celebrating after opening a new shop in Lichfield.
A ceremony has taken place to cut the ribbon on the St Giles Hospice store at Boley Park.
Cllr Rosie Harvey-Coggins helped open the new outlet – the charity’s 24th – before shoppers headed inside to grab a bargain.
She said:
“Lichfield is a city with a strong sense of community – and it’s wonderful to see that spirit through this new shop. It is a place that will not only raise vital funds for hospice care, but also bring people together.
“This shop is more than just a retail space, it’s a symbol of hope and kindness, and a chance for us all to give back, whether that’s through donating, shopping sustainably or volunteering.
“Thank you to the store’s staff and volunteers. Their hard work and passion are the heartbeat of this shop and I have no doubt it will be a fantastic addition to both St Giles and the Boley Park community.”
The new location stocks items including fashion, books and homewares.
Robert Evans, head of retail at St Giles Hospice, said:
“The response from the community has been absolutely overwhelming. Seeing so many familiar faces and new customers supporting us on day one shows just how much this shop was needed in Boley Park.
“Every purchase made here will make a real difference to families facing the most difficult times.”
