Time is running out for people in Lichfield to have their say on plans for compensation for those affected by HS2.
The original consultation deadline was extended and will now close on May 20.
The Exceptional Hardship Scheme is designed to help residents whose property has reduced in value as a result of the proposed high speed rail route being announced, but need to sell before it is built.
Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant has already called for the compensation to be expanded to include second homes and rental properties.
“For many people, a rental property has replaced a company pension,” he explained. “Many such homeowners might need to sell their rental properties in the near future if they are about to retire.”
