AN increase in the number of arrests made across the county will be among the items discussed by the Staffordshire Commissioner at a meeting next week.

Ben Adams will present his annual report at the Police, Fire and Crime Panel session at 10am on Monday (28th July).

It covers work of Staffordshire Police and the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service over the past year.

Items on the agenda include a 7.25% rise in arrests and an 8.6% decrease in neighbourhood crimes such as burglary, robbery, vehicle thefts and vehicle interference.

The meeting will also be told how a new dedicated road crime team has made 467 arrests and recovered 124 stolen vehicles, while Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has responded to more than 1,100 incidents of vulnerable people falling in their homes.
