Chasetown FC’s FA Trophy hopes have been boosted by the news skipper Richard Teesdale will be fit for their quarter-final tie against Mansfield Town.

The defender had been a doubt after picking up an injury in the warm-up during his side’s 1-0 defeat against Colwyn Bay.

However, manager Charlie Blakemore confirmed to The Lichfield Blog that Teesdale had come through a midweek training session unscathed.

And the good injury news could continue for the Scholars with Blakemore revealing former Walsall striker Gary Birch could play a part if he comes through a late fitness test.
