GIACOMO Smith is bringing his new quartet to Lichfield for the launch of their new Artfullee album.

The Italian-born clarinetist, saxophonist and composer has shaped his sound through a life which took him to the United States where he developed a deep love of jazz.

It has seen him enjoy a career full of collaborations with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Jamie Cullum, Biréli Lagrène, China Moses, Joe Lovano, Guy Barker and Julian Bliss.

As a producer, Giacomo has worked on albums for Jamie Cullum, Damian Lewis, Zara McFarlane, Jas Kayser and Joe Stilgoe.

He will be joined for his Lichfield show by Tom Ward on piano, bassist Tom Farmer and drummer Shane Forbes as the quartet officially unveil their new release.

Anthony Evans, creative director at The Hub at St Mary's, said:

"The Giacomo Quartet create a new, fresh and exciting sound, and we're really looking forward to their latest album launch."

Tickets for the show are £22 and can be booked at thehubstmarys.co.uk.
