Jazz fans are in for a treat when Funktional take to the stage in Lichfield.
The group will be supported by a trio featuring young drummer Ric Yarborough at the Back Room Jazz Club at the George IV.
Funktional have performed at the Lichfield Real Ale, Jazz and Blues Festival, the Fuse Festival and headlined the Back Room Jazz Festival and performed across the UK.
Founder Nick Dewhurst said:
“We don’t exactly do what the name suggests, as its not really a function band, but more of a young exciting jazz quintet thats repertoire focuses chiefly on jazz with grooves We’ll be featuring many original compositions, plus also the music of Dave Holland, Tom Harrell, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, and Kenny Wheeler amongst others.”
The concert takes place on February 17 at 8.30pm and entry is free.
