CHASETOWN gave their play-off hopes a much-needed boost as they picked up all three points against Clitheroe.
Joey Butlin carved out the first chance of note when his free-kick was deflected wide of the target after 15 minutes.
The Scholars continued to press with George Cater’s ball across goal going begging.
At the other end, Clitheroe saw a shot drift wide as they looked to break the deadlock.
But the opener went the way of Chasetown ten minutes before half-time as the referee played a good advantage after Tyrell Skeen-Hamilton had been fouled to allow Joey Butlin to pick up the loose ball and slot home.
The Scholars made the points safe on 70 minutes when Nathan Cameron found the net to ensure the Scholars picked up a vital three points in their bid to get back in the play-off race.
