The Cabinet on Lichfield District Council has been shrunk from eight posts to six.
The changes will see Cllr Mike Wilcox remain as leader, but hand over his finance post to Cllr Christopher Spruce, who will also take on responsibility for democratic and legal services.
Meanwhile, Cllr Val Richards will see tourism added to her existing portfolio of leisure and communications.
“I’m delighted to announce the new roles in the Cabinet and look forward to working alongside such a strong team,” said Cllr Wilcox.
“By stepping down as Cabinet member, it will free up more of my time to focus on leading the council, and I know that Cllr Spruce, who has been an assistant Cabinet member for the past year, is more than qualified for the crucial role.”
In other changes, Cllr Ian Pritchard will take on development services, while Cllr Colin Greatorex has the responsibility for housing and environmental health. Cllr Louise Flowith’s role will see her continue to oversee operational services.
