Councillor Mike Wilcox, Leader of Lichfield District Council, said: “It’s always sad to lose important members of our Cabinet, and I would like to thank Cllr Val Richards and Cllr Louise Flowith for their many years of hard work and guidance in their roles.

“However, it is great to have new views and ideas brought to the Cabinet, so I am delighted to welcome Cllr Andrew Smith and Cllr Iain Eadie to the team.

“As a council, we face challenging times ahead to deal with the reduction in our funding as a result of government cuts. However, we have a skilled and fresh team, who I am confident will work together to shape the council in the right way.”

Councillor Ian Pritchard has also been named the Deputy Leader and his Cabinet position has changed to include Economic Growth.
