A LICHFIELD auctioneer is inviting people to follow his progress as he takes on the London Marathon this weekend.
Richard Winterton will swap the saleroom for the streets of the capital tomorrow (26th April).
He takes on the 26.2 mile course in aid of Parkinson’s UK and We Love Lichfield.
People can follow him on the 2026 TCS London Marathon app and search for his bib number 79778. It will provide his live location and provide timing updates after he leaves the start line at 11.12am.
Richard said he was looking forward to putting his training regime to the test:
“After turning 60, I wanted to do something special.
“People’s generosity has been amazing and the tallies for both charities have grown and grown.
“Every single donation will make a real difference so thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
“I am also so grateful for everyone’s support and encouragement which has given me a gigantic boost during training for the big day.”
