LICHFIELD suffered defeat in their final day outing at relegated Wednesbury.
The result sees the city men finish sixth in the South Staffordshire League Division One.
Visitors Lichfield opted to bat first after winning the toss and might be forgiven for regretting that choice as four wickets fell with just 37 runs on the scoreboard.
Daniel Caddick's 25 and Rory Prentice's 52 settled the ship somewhat to push the score to 134-7.
Elliot Dowen's 23 late on also added crucial runs, but when he was caught by Gavin Lord off the bowling of Ashley Wright, Lichfield found themselves all out for 168 after 40 overs.
Lord was the pick of the bowling attack for Wednesbury as he finished with figures of 3-24.
The home side were determined to end a disappointing season on a high and reached 78 inside ten overs before Fateh Dillon (22) became the first wicket to fall when he was run out.
Fellow opener Arslan Bajwa (43) followed shortly afterwards, as did Muhammad Haziq (9) as Wednesbury found themselves on 95-3.
But despite losing Ruthesh Udayaraj for 16, the hosts eventually reached the target with just four wickets down.
