EXCLUSIVE: Michael Wilcox is to become the new leader of Lichfield’s ruling Conservative Party.
The Alrewas and Fradley councillor was selected at a meeting this week, but his appointment as Leader of Lichfield District Council needs to be ratified at a full meeting in May.
He is set replace Cllr David Smith who announced he was stepping down as leader of the council after 11 years in the post.
Cllr Wilcox is currently the Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance, Revenues and Benefits.
