A Lichfield cub scout has had 23 inches of her hair cut off for charity.

Berti Waldon, 8, will donate her locks to the Little Princess Trust, which creates wigs for children suffering hair loss as a result of cancer or other illness.

She has also raised more than £1,300 for leukaemia charity CLIC Sargent.

Berti said: “I learnt more about cancer last year when my Daddy had it. He is now OK but there are still lots of people including children who are suffering – I wanted to try and help some of them.”

People can donate to her fundraising effort via a JustGiving page.
