A LICHFIELD housebuilder has hit a milestone as part of its support for a local charity project.
Walton Homes pledged to donate £200 for every open market home – and has now handed over a cheque for £3,200 to Kids’ Village.
The charity is working to build the UK’s first purpose-built holiday village for seriously ill children and their families at land in Wychnor.
When complete, the site will feature ten four-bedroom lodges and a central facility for communal activities.
Amy Summerton, director at Walton Homes, said:
“As a business based in Lichfield and with developments across the Midlands, we wanted to find a regional charity partner that could help us give something back to our local community.
“Kids’ Village is the perfect charity partner for us – a local endeavour seeking to make a real positive difference for young people and their families facing the most challenging of times.
“We are absolutely delighted to have made our first donation to the cause and can’t wait to continue to see how the build is progressing.”
Walton Homes has also donated a house-worth of furniture to help kit out the lodges.
