LICHFIELD were left disappointed after a derby day defeat at Rugeley.
The city men won the toss and opted to bat, but immediately found themselves out of luck when Adam Braddock was trapped lbw by Will Hinder before registering a score.
Fellow opener Oliver Caddick also made a swift return to the pavilion when he was caught by Andrew Le Feaver off the bowling of Mohammed Adall after scoring just one from 21 balls.
The middle order did offer some resistance though as Ihsaan Nadeem made 58, while Thomas Clarke struck 34 off 28 balls.
Tail-enders Edward Turner and Nivraj Virk tried to add vital runs late on, but Virk became the last man to fall when he was caught by Ali Fawcett off the bowling of Gladwin to see Lichfield bowled out for 194.
The city men looked to take back the initiative with the ball as Edward Turner and Thomas Clarke rattled through the order, reducing Rugeley to 71-6.
But Abdul Kadeer's unbeaten century from 70 balls would prove to be decisive as his side passed the target with three wickets to spare.
Turner was the pick of the Lichfield bowlers with figures of 3-31.
